Named for  “Big Rick” Little, Little Town Sound was established in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1995 by Ricky Little and Alex Troughton. In 2006, the company joined forces with Milyn Satterfield Productions, expanding its reach and services throughout the Southeast. For decades, Little Town Sound has supported musicians, venues, businesses, and creative organizations through recording, artist development, booking, management, marketing, and media production.

Today, Little Town Sound is a New Orleans based artist media company, record label, and creative campus dedicated to recording, developing, documenting, promoting, and preserving music and culture. The company operates as a fully integrated artist ecosystem, providing services that support creators from initial concept through recording, content creation, manufacturing, promotion, distribution, performance, broadcasting, and archival preservation.

Rather than functioning solely as a recording studio or record label, Little Town Sound serves as a multidisciplinary creative hub where musicians, filmmakers, producers, visual artists, and cultural organizations collaborate under one roof. The organization combines commercial services with cultural preservation, creating sustainable opportunities for artists while contributing to the long term documentation and celebration of music and the arts.

Originally headquartered in a historic Masonic Lodge in Birmingham, Alabama, Little Town Sound operated a fully equipped recording studio and film production facility that became a gathering place for artists, musicians, filmmakers, and creatives. Known for its artist-first philosophy and legendary Sound Parties, the company built a reputation for fostering collaboration, community, and independent creativity. Today, that same spirit continues in New Orleans through an expanded ecosystem of recording, media, manufacturing, publishing, archives, radio, and artist services.
